●PRISMACOLOR PENCILS (—ages 8 and up)

Sanford Prismacolor Pencils: 24 set or larger, Kneaded eraser, white eraser, masking  tape, pencil, Sanford Uniball Pen Micro: black, Paintbrush: soft make-up brush or soft house painting brush – used is fine, Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray #1303: For parents to spray the final art to a high gloss finish. #300 Crescent Illustration Board (cold-pressed) 8” x 10” boards: Purchase one or two per Art Camp from Teacher: $1.50 each

●DRAWING WITH MARKERS

Ages 5-9: Pencil, white eraser, 2 sets of Crayola wide-tipped markers: Classic & Tropical colors (other color sets are fine), Black Sharpie fine or ultra-fine (for detailed child) pen, drawing paper 12 x 18 or similar size, (Oil Pastels, Crayola Over Writers, or metallic markers are a fun option)

 

●OIL PASTELS

Ages 5-9: Pencil, white eraser, one set of Oil Pastels, drawing paper 12 x 18 or similar size

Ages 9-up: Pencil, white eraser, one set of Oil Pastels, drawing paper 50lb or heavier, 9 x 12 or larger—OR Bristol Paper—Vellum OR 140 lb watercolor paper, cold-press.

 

●SOFT PASTELS

Ages 5-9: Pencil, drawing paper: three sheets of 12 x 18 or similar size, soft pastels: set of 12 in standard, multiple colors, baby wipes: bring plenty in a ziplock bag, foam board or cardboard cut a little larger than paper, masking tape

Ages 9-up: white charcoal or black vine charcoal-soft (depending on how dark your paper is), White eraser, Soft pastels: standard, multiple colors, Miteintes Pastel Paper: one 19 x 25 sheet, folded then cut in half in neutral colors (felt gray, tans, or other grays), baby wipes: bring plenty in a ziplock bag, foam board or cardboard cut a little larger than paper, masking tape, Workable Fixative.

 

●ACRYLIC PAINT CLASS***WEAR OLD CLOTHES!

Ages 5-up: Acrylic Craft paints in 2 oz. bottles, any brand: choose bright-primary red, yellow, blue, white, violet, black (Option: green, orange and any other color), Brushes:  ¼ inch flat nylon, and ½ OR ¾ inch flat nylon (and any other brushes that you might have) OR Royal & Langnickel’s Big Kid’s Choice flat or assorted brushes sold at Michaels in the kid’s aisle, are great! Pencil, White eraser, Paper towels--plenty! Egg Carton or paper plate for palette, 2 poster boards, cut in half, Foam Board or cardboard—we use this to mount the paper onto (a little larger than the cut piece of poster board), Masking tape, Old shirt or smock, (If using Mom’s or Dad’s old shirt: cut off sleeves to elbows), Plastic grocery bag

Ages 9-up: Use the above craft paints OR inexpensive student acrylics: Winsor Newton Galeria 2 oz, Grumbacher Academy or Van Gogh or any other acrylic tube paints in similar colors: Winsor Blue or Ultramarine, Alizarin Crimson, Violet, Cadmium Red, White, Cadmium Yellow, (Option: Violet and black) and the above supplies, brushes, etc.  If choosing individual brushes, nylon flats—one large, ½” to ¾” and a medium ½ inch brush OR bring what you have—avoid natural hair brushes.

 

WATERCOLOR PAINTING

Ages 5-up: Prang or Sargeant watercolor paint set (Zieglers, Michaels, Hobby Lobby), brushes-package of Royal and Langnickel Big Kid’s Choice: flat brushes (Michaels) in Kid’s Craft Aisle OR one large #6 or #8 round nylon brush—brush must have spring to it—avoid natural hair craft brushes (may use brushes from acrylic class, paper towels! 140# watercolor paper—cold press, pencil, masking tape, eraser, foam board or card board to mount paper.

Ages 9-up: may bring the above watercolor paint sets OR four tubes of student quality paints (Van Gogh, Grumbacher Academy, etc. $3-$4 a tube of nontoxic paint)1. Ultramarine Blue OR Cobalt Blue,

2.  Alizarin Crimson, 3. Gamboge Yellow OR Azo Yellow OR Cadmium Yellow Medium OR bring what you have 4. Sap Green OR Hooker’s Green OPTION: Cadmium Red Medium, 20”x30” or smaller foam board OR cardboard cut a little larger than watercolor paper, #140 cold-press watercolor paper, #6 or #8 round brush, #1, or #2 round brush, OR above brush sets mentioned for Acrylic paint—flat brushes are great, paper towels! Masking tape, pencil, eraser. If using tube paints bring a Palette: Styrofoam plate, egg carton or white palette from store. 

 

DRAWING WITH PENCILS OR PEN&INK OR CHARCOAL (Ages 8-up)

Pen & Ink: Micron 03 or 05 black pen, 2H pencil, white eraser, drawing paper 50 lb. or heavier OR Bristol paper smooth—best;

PencilHB, 2H, 3B and 6B pencils (8B woodless—optional—instead of 6B), White eraser, kneaded eraser, 50 lb. or heavier drawing paper OR Bristol Paper—vellum for pencils or smooth  Bristol paper for pen and ink.

Charcoal: General’s white, HB and 6B charcoal pencils, soft vine charcoal, Mi-Tientes pastel paper—one large sheet—sky blue, felt or steel gray—  20”x30”foam board or cardboard, masking tape, baby wipes; workable fixative; 12”-18” ruler; kneaded and white erasers,
