JANUARY 14, 28 & FEBRUARY 11 PEN & INK DRAWING:
Strathmore Bristol paper, smooth, Micron 03, 05, 08 pens--black, 2H pencil, white eraser. Option: Micron 005 & 01 black pens.
FEBRUARY 25, MAR 10 & APRIL 14 WATERCOLOR PAINTING:
Pencil, white eraser, above Micron pens, brushes: #6 or #8 nylon or quality sable round brush, # 1 or #2 round brush and medium flat brush--avoid cheap craft brushes!; watercolor paints: students choose pan paints such as Prang, Yarka, Sargent, OR student quality tube paints: 1. Alizarin Crimson, 2. Ultramarine or Cobalt Blue, 3. Gamboge Yellow or Azo Yellow or Cadmium Yellow Medium or Indian Yellow 4. Cadmium Red Medium, 5. Options: Hooker's Green, Manganese Blue, Sienna Brown--please AVOID GOUACHE PAINTS; 9 x 12" or 11 x 15" 140 lb Watercolor paper, cold-press; 20" x 30" foam or card board (may cut to larger than paper), paper towels, masking tape; if using tube paints students will need a watercolor palette: white plastic type with wells to hold paint or Styrafoam egg cartons or old white plate. Students using pan paints will use the lid to their paint set as a palette.
APRIL 28 & MAY 5 MIXED MEDIA:
Above watercolor supplies, Tacky glue, oil pastels, medical gauze, a page from a newspaper or old book. Option: metallic markers, tiny glass beads, feathers, shells, found objects, etc.

PREVIOUS ADVANCED STUDENTS MAY WORK IN MEDIUM OF CHOICE IF DEVELOPING A DISCIPLINE IN A PARTICULAR MEDIUM. THEY ARE ALSO INVITED TO WORK ON CONTEST DEADLINES, AND STAY OVER LONGER OR JOIN OTHER CLASSES TO WORK ON THEIR PROJECTS. NOTIFY TEACHER IF DOING SO.
