Art I Dated Supply Schedule

SATURDAY ART I

JANUARY 14 & 28 DRAWING WITH MARKERS & OIL PASTELS:

Pencil, white eraser, drawing paper 12" x 18" OR similar size, two packs of Crayola Markers-wide tipped-variety of colors (Tropical Pastel--Apple Tree at 41st & Sheridan); Black Sharpie Marker--fine for most children (ultra-fine for the detailed child); Oil Pastels. OPTIONAL: Metallic Markers-these are great! 

FEBRUARY 11, 25 & MAR 10 WATERCOLOR PAINTING: 

Pencil, white eraser, Acrylic craft paint in 2 oz bottles (or larger): pan watercolor paints: Prang, Sargent, Yarka, Reeves, etc. NO CRAYOLA PAN PAINTS PLEASE;Brushes--Royal & Langnickle Big Kids Choice Flat brushes (red handles and bristles--comes in a set): Michaels in the Kid's aisle OR bring what you have. Make sure the brush has spring to it (avoid cheap craft brushes!); oil pastels, foam or card board--20" x 30" or cut a little larger than their paper; 11 x 15" (or similar size) Watercolor paper 140 lb, cold-press; paper towels, masking tape. 

APRIL 14 & 28 PAPIER MACHE FOUR LEGGED ANIMAL:

APRIL 14: Newspapers, torn into strips; 1/2 C salt, 2 cups white flour, masking tape, scissors, cardboard, 4 toilet paper rolls, (if wanting antlers-bring at least 2 forked sturdy twigs)

APRIL 28: Acrylic craft paint in colors of student's choice; brushes, tacky glue, paper towels; OPTIONS: decorative papers, metallic cord, glass beads, feathers, tiny shells, etc. Students may even use found objects: pop bottle caps, keys, small pebbles, dried pressed leaves or flowers, dried seeds to decorate our animals. 

SUGGESTION: Once the papier mache has dried for several days, parents may paint their child's mask with Triple Thick Acryclic Glaze: comes in a jar and will seal on the decorative objects with a clear diamond finish. (Found in glue/adhesive section at Michaels).

MAY 5 SCULPEY CLAY:

Four to five 2 oz. packs of Sculpey Clay in various colors. A box to carry art home in.

MONDAY ART I

JANUARY 9 & 23 DRAWING WITH MARKERS & OIL PASTELS:
